I’ve made it clear that I have nothing but contempt for those who sock puppet for financial gain, as was the case with cheating in FanLit. But I have similar disdain for those who make cheesy attempts to support their point of view when they’re losing an online argument.

I switched off my anti-spam plug-ins a month or so ago because I was messing around with my WordPress template. Then I got crazy busy, so template development fell by the wayside. Wow. We’re talking HUNDREDS of spam comments a day, to the point that real comments were almost getting lost in the shuffle.
