Apropos of Nothing: Note To Self

Y’know, if the HGTV people are coming over to shoot a bunch of footage in that kitchen you refer to as your pride and joy, you may want to wipe the enormous streaks off your stainless steel fridge. Stuff like that is particularly glaring in high def. :-) I thought it was a trick of the light at first, but that merciless ol’ camera just kept panning by this woman’s fridge in all its streaky glory.

In other words, I’ve gotten addicted to HGTV, particularly House Hunters International. It started when I hurt my back the other week and all I could do for several days was lie flat on the bed and watch HGTV. Until I got an overdose of it, I never realized how addictive those shows can be, and now I’m hooked, drat it!

It’s much easier to watch someone else tear out walls than to do it myself. Maybe that’s it. :-)

HGTV is one of my favorite channels. I watch it when there’s nothing else on and don’t have a favorite, but some of those designers are knock-out brilliant! I want to do what they do!

Is this where I should post my denial of any interest in such unmahnly television programming, and my complaints that it conflicts with my viewing of sports? Grunts? Belches?

Hi, Edie! I just don’t have the eye for color that they do. I can tell that the stuff they put together looks great, but I never would’ve come up with it on my own!

I will arrange for you to watch plumbers wearing low-riding jeans, John. Just you wait!

Aww, man. I looove HGTV. Gives me all these nifty ideas that I’ll never get a chance to try out. I’m continuously amazed on how much people complaint about rooms being too small/no closet space/unfinished basements. These are people coming from tiny apartments. Gimme a break!

Hi, Liz! I totally know what you mean. I can’t get over how people complain about houses that look reasonably okay to me. I’ve seen (and lived in) much, much worse!
