Lynne, I didn’t expect that ending! I’m blinking tears away.
I was wondering if I should warn people first! I thought that was an amazing story. Maybe if he’s healthy he can come to the inauguration.
I read that article following a link from Atrios’ Eschaton. It’s incredibly powerful. I not only hope he sees the inauguration, I hope that he’s invited and given a place of honor at the inauguration.
Actually, the number of people who died right before the election is striking. It’s as if everything was well enough in hand and they could rest now.
James!!! You live!
You’ve put your finger on the tragedy of civil rights delayed: even a little delay means that some folks won’t live to enjoy them.
Yeah, I’m alive. Yes, I have composed about 10 blog posts in my head, including one I was absolutely going to post on election night. You can blame the Widow Clicquot for wiping that one out. The rest of them are all my fault.
I just haven’t found the time to sit down at the ol’ desktop and write something. Of course, it doesn’t help that the desktop is currently in the basement.
Hi, James! Sorry it took me so long to reply. I agree — I hope Mr. Allen is a guest of honor at the Inauguration.
