My (Involuntary) Internet Vacation
Apr 15th, 2008 by Lynne
Zoinks! Our local Internet provider dropped off the face of the planet last week, so we were without access for several days. They claimed to be having hardware issues, but given the very grim information in their parent company’s recent SEC filings, it’s much more likely to have been the result of unpaid bills to their upstream provider.
We ordered service from another local company on Saturday, and everything went live earlier today. Yay! Let’s hope these guys don’t get bought out by clueless n00bs like the last company was.

“Problems at the printers” will never go out of style.
Ah, yes, the ol’ TSR excuse for publications not appearing on schedule. It seems silly to me to make up a lie that’s completely going to fall apart when the problem drags on and on. If the truth’s gonna come out anyway, go ahead and figure out an adult way to deal with it and communicate with the people who need to know what’s up.
Glad your internet is back up and running. Sorry I’ve not been by recently…I’ve been writing (poor excuse, I know)…but I’m going to try to surf past on a more regular basis!
Hi, Ericka! Being busy writing is a great reason not to visit! I hope you’re writing stuff that you love and having a blast. :-)
