Wow, now where was I?

I keep having to redefine what I mean by “insanely busy.” Although I thought I had a full calibration on that, I was dead wrong. This last month and a half has been, well, insane, but things seem to be leveling out a bit.
I hope you’ve all been watching Masterpiece’s Austen series. If not, get thee to thy DVR and set it to record, for Emma is coming up next Sunday! I’ve promised myself to do mini-reviews of the installments thus far, and since I have a teeny bit of time this week, maybe I’ll get them done.
John and I have also been watching the episodes of The Adventure of English on History International. The wealth of information on the formation and growth of the English language is simply mind-boggling, and if you can watch the shows and/or buy the book, I think you’ll find them fascinating and well worth your time.
I’ve been watching American Idol, which is on the opposite end of the spectrum from Masterpiece Theater. There was nothing else on when I started watching it, and now I’m hooked. Otherwise, I’m busy working on my book.
Welcome back! Still haven’t caught up with the Masterpiece Theatre Austens due to the issues of coordinating with the spouse.
Hi, Edie! I guess the writers’ strike had more than a few people looking for something new to watch, eh?
Of all the Austens I’ve seen so far, the only new one that didn’t suffer from the compressed format was Northanger Abbey. It’s a fluffy, lightweight story, anyway, so it’s no big deal to chop it to 90 minutes.
Persuasion, on the other hand, did not do well at all. It could’ve used another 30 minutes at the very least.
Hi, Jody! Congrats on your Mrs. Giggles review! Woohoo! :-)
The Masterpiece Austens haven’t caused any coordination issues with us, but we keep having to pare down the DVR recordings to make room for them and all the History International stuff.
I am completely addicted to Ancient Almanac and History’s Mysteries. :-)
