Grammar Grump: Just Deserts vs. Just Desserts
Feb 22nd, 2007 by Lynne
In a history book I was reading last night, the author referred to someone getting his “just desserts.” ::groan::
For more information, here’s a Snopes.com article that discusses the origins of the term. You can also read about it in the Eggcorn Database.

But what if you deserve something good? Then it would be ‘desserts’, wouldn’t it?
“He had a date with a tiramisu…and with destiny.”
Hi, Edie! If you wanted to make a play on words, sure. :-) I think that’s what the Snopes site was doing initially.
I’m trying to think of something witty to say, John, and failing miserably.
As usual. :-)
